For example, downtown Alajuela, city where the international airport Juan Santa Maria is located is 900 meters above sea level, with an average temperature of 86 degrees Fahrenheit and it is only 24 km from the skirts of the Poas Volcano where you reach heights of 2700 meters above sea level with temperatures that vary from 41 to 68 degrees Fahrenheit
Costa Rica Weather is nice along most of the year. It is hotter in the zone coasts.
The temperature on mountain zones is not cold, especially during the day giving a sensation of eternal spring. The average yearly temperature rounds between 90 degrees on the coast and 63 degrees on the interior of the country. Rainy season or green season goes from May to November, with nearly no rain on December to April.
